Virtual tours to enjoy from home: Vol. 8

The National Tour Association has compiled an extensive list of virtual tours and educational resources for travel planners. You can see what’s happening in popular cities, states, and provinces—and at top attractions—by checking out their digital resources.

In addition to housing information on virtual tours of top attractions—including History Colorado, an NTA member—the VISIT DENVER page has updates on performing arts programming and even a Pandemic Playlist featuring songs from local bands.

The Chicago Architecture Center

The Chicago Architecture Center

While the center’s in-person tours highlighting the Windy City are hold, live online tours cover the organization’s regular tour themes and highlight significant buildings in downtown Chicago. The attraction also has a variety of hands-on activities and resources available for educators.

Visit St. Pete/Clearwater

The Florida DMO has created a series of virtual Fam tours recalling a more idyllic time in the St. Pete/Clearwater area. The installments include “Sunrise to Sunset,” “Downtown & Dali,” “Throwback Florida,” “All in the Family,” and “Clearwater and Company.”

The Strong National Museum of Play

This collections-based museum in Rochester, New York, is devoted to the history and exploration of play. You can tour the many galleries that feature the Strong’s comprehensive collection of historical materials related to games, collectibles, comics, and electronics.
