Detroit for students

“Detroit has a wide variety of cultural, entertainment and outdoor to-dos to fill up student groups’ days with fun when they visit,” says Kalynne Defever of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The DMCVB is here to help you save time and create the most memorable student group experience ever!”

Students can stop “In the Name of Love” at the Motown Museum and go back in time as they see where Motown’s greatest hits were recorded. In addition to seeing Studio A, where legends such as Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and the Temptations came to record their songs, students also can check out exhibits displaying original stage uniforms worn by famous artists, early promotional materials, rare photos and other significant Motown memorabilia.

More than 26 million artifacts are spread across the The Henry Ford’s attractions that sit on 200 acres in nearby Dearborn. Just a short drive from Detroit, this institution connects students not only with the U.S. automobile industry, but also with many other aspects of American history. This national historic landmark consists of three unique venues: the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village and the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. During a visit, groups also have a chance to take in a film at The Henry Ford Giant Screen Experience.
