This holiday season, explore Niagara Parks’ winter programming and find joy in discovering the area’s many natural wonders in new and exciting ways.
Niagara Falls is transformed into a winter wonderland with the mist rising from the Canadian Horseshoe Falls over Niagara Parks as it’s covered in sparkling layers of snow and ice. Whether your guests want to bundle up and explore the outdoors or prefer to escape the cold, here are some of our favorite events that will make this season unforgettable.
Journey Behind the Falls
In Niagara Falls, temperatures normally dip well below freezing in February, creating a layer of snow and ice on the surrounding scenery; it’s quite a sight! To see some of the most spectacular icy views, navigate your way through 130-year-old tunnels as you Journey Behind the Falls to stand at the heart of Niagara. Marvel at the frozen falls in all its glory.
Butterfly Conservatory
Escape the cold temperatures to a tropical paradise inside the Butterfly Conservatory, which is located on the grounds of the Botanical Gardens. Discover the magic of thousands of brightly colored butterflies as they float freely throughout their glass-enclosed home.
Floral Showhouse
The holidays arrive in technicolor at Niagara Parks’ Floral Showhouse with our Annual Poinsettia Show. This year’s show features two unique themes: In the centre house, guests will see poinsettias in traditional colors and shapes, and the north house will showcase a kaleidoscopic twist of rainbow-colored poinsettias, cyclamen, azaleas, and much more!
Table Rock House Restaurant
Celebrate the holidays with a perfect dining experience at Table Rock House Restaurant. Sitting next to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, you can indulge your craving with a seasonal, locally sourced, and internationally inspired menu.
Niagara Parks, which is proudly Feast On-certified by the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance, supports local growers, producers, brewers, and distillers.
Visit Table Rock House Restaurant for an incredible lunch or a decadent Sunday brunch featuring the flavors you love! All tables are spaced for proper distance between guests.
Table Rock Shop
Looking for a special gift for your loved ones this holiday? Discover a selection of carefully crafted items by local artisans as well as beloved Canadian brands like Roots Canada and many more inside Table Rock Shop, located just steps from the brink of Niagara Falls.
Guests are invited to stop by Niagara Never Stops on the lower level of Table Rock Shop for a cool selfie and a selection of apparel for the whole family.
Falls Illumination
Did you know Niagara Falls was first illuminated in 1860? In September that year, 200 Bengal light flares were launched in honor of the visit of Prince of Wales Edward VII, Queen Victoria’s oldest son. Due to environmental concerns, a shift to energy-efficient LED lights was made in 2016. Now, every evening at dusk, the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls are illuminated with vivid, programmable lights in nearly every color!
