Located about an hour northwest of Madison, Wisconsin Dells is a small town of 3,000 that offers a multitude of attractions for families and groups.

Situated on the Wisconsin River, the town is home to Mirror Lake State Park, which includes hiking trails, lake activities, and campsites. Another lodging option is the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Seth Peterson Cottage that’s within the park.

In addition to the area’s natural beauty, Wisconsin Dells is home to nearly 100 attractions. The town offers six outdoor waterparks—including Noah’s Ark Waterpark, the largest in the U.S—as well as five of the indoor variety. For groups interested in activities on dry land, you can head to one of three area zip line facilities, two go-cart tracks, an escape room, or the trampoline park. Wisconsin Dells also offers two amusement parks that provide hours of family fun.
