Thanks to a burgeoning culinary scene and its signature attraction, the Alamo, San Antonio wows travelers in many ways. The city provides a range of authentic experiences for groups, including cruises along the River Walk and the Tejas Rodeo.
The folks at Go Rio River Cruise take visitors on 35-minute rides along the man-made canal. As passengers cruise on one of the electric boats, they hear details about the historical city and its famous River Walk.
The company offers additional experiences that can include everything from fitness classes and yoga or stationary cycling to culinary options, such as dinner on the boat or a make-your-own margarita and guacamole workshop in partnership with local restaurant Ácenar.
“The Tejas Rodeo is a gem for groups looking for an authentic Texas experience,” said Visit San Antonio President & CEO Casandra Matej. “With more than 10 years of experience producing professional rodeos, the Tejas Rodeo team can create an exceptional group experience that’s educational, interactive, and fun.”
The rodeo, which is held Saturday evenings from March through the end of November in nearby Bulverde, features cowboys and cowgirls taking part in traditional rodeo competitions and a patriotic show. The evening’s meal—featuring steaks, sides, beer, and spirits—is served up at the on-site Tejas Steak House and Saloon. Following the rodeo, there is live music and a Western dance.
